God's Love
I want you to picture someone you love dearly in your mind. Imagine this person talking with you, playing with you, going out to dinner with you—making magical memories together.
Get a good picture in your mind.
Now go with me on this. I want you to imagine handing this beloved person over to die for a falling world.
Did you picture your mother, daughter, maybe your son or your father, sister, brother, or a close friend?
Would you do it?
How does this scenario make you feel?
This is how much God loves us. He tells us in His Word just how much.
Let’s read:
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” I John 3:16 (NIV)
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11 (ESV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)
